Onomatopoeia is a disease all LOST writers suffer from. We're always looking for ways of intensifying the sense of action we're trying to convey on the page. So without spoiling what's coming up this season, we've asked our awesome co-producer/script coordinator Gregg Nations to pull up a list of some of the unique words that appear in the first 3 episodes of season 5. They might give you a very marginal sense of what's coming up:
From #501:
CL-CLICK. BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP. KNOCKNKNOCKKNOCK! WHAPPP! VVVVVVWWHHHHHEEEEMMMMMM! PLLEPPT-PLEPTT-PLEPTT. BOOOOOOOOOM! BLAAM!!! THUUDDD. CRUUUUUUUUUNCH! PFFT! PFFT! PFFT! SMAAASSHHHH! SHCLICK!!!! CA-CLICK. FOOOMP. SKLIIIIIISH. PING. RAT-A-TAT. BAMBAMBAMBAMBAM!!!!
From #502:
BWOOBWOO! TAPTAPTAPTAPTAP. KNOCKKNOCKKNOCKKNOCK. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. SLAMMM! THWACK! KRE-KLACK. BEEEEP... SLAMS. SCRRIIIIIDDDDDDDFLIP!
From #503:
FLAPP-FLAPP-FLAPP. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!! THRAAAAASH! KAAAAAAAA-THWOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!! CLICKETY-CLICKETY-CLACK. CRRRR-ACK!
Not only are these words fun to write, they're also fun to spell check. As each one comes up, your fingers hover there on the mouse wondering whether to "ignore" or "save" or whether you're just plain insane.
Also this week, we've got a brand new video about the LOST BOOK CLUB for you, including a special reading from a book that appears this upcoming season.
GAASSPPPP! What's this? Why, it looks like a first-look at an as-yet-unseen Dharma station logo. Hmmmmmmm... I wonder what the name of the station is?
To check it all out, click on the link below and enter the password.
Enjoy. As usual, these are up for only 48 hours. Until next week...
Peace, Love and Namaste,
Damon and Carlton

The first thought on the new dharma station is "The Lighthouse"??????????????????
Hmm.. fitting if you need to find "home"
Its either a light house or lamp post---at least to me.
Like, the lamp post in the Chronicles of Narnia.
adella courey is this week's password
Using both as first names I was able to come up with the follow meanings and origins.
Adella - 'Noble', 'Of the nobility'; as to the origin, I've found conflicting etymologies. It is credited to both Germanic and Spanish origins.
Courey - A more difficult one to find a direct meaning and origin. Using Corey as the base it typically is thought to have the meaning of 'God's Spear'; from both the Germanic and English. Though in the Gaelic it has a different meaning, 'Dweller in or near a hollow' also 'spear'.
has anyone downloaded the ringtone yet?
it looks like a street light, but obviously The Lighthouse makes the most sense.
i can't download the ringtone yet.. but im on an iphone.. :<
Haha. Yes, My first thought was "The Lighthouse" as well

i can't download it either... t-mobile? or jut not ready yet?
Adella Courey=You Are Called
That's the only one I could find that made sense anyway
Anyone got that ringtone so I can make it work for my iPhone?
I get "message Barred" when I try to get the ringtone.
Could this be because I'm in England?
I downloaded the ringtone. It's just the voice from the DWY website saying "Namaste" over and over again in a couple different inflections. Downloaded it fine on my AT&T LG Shine.
wonder if Dark can get it up here.
Can we get a recording or dump of the ringtone? Any format, I just want to hear it.
it's really nothing special, it's just like tickiebox said the woman just repeat's namaste about 10-12 times over 20 seconds.
My thought on the Dharma logo is "The Beacon."
The Lighthouse seems likely. I think this is what the O6 will use to get back to the island.
Any people in the UK managed to get the ringtone yet?? If so what network are you on?
hi everybody
I have the same problem with the ringtone. I´m in spain and when i send the message, in my mobile phone it appears: "sending error, state 254". could anyone upload the ringtone, please? just for having it
thanks
Yep, here in the Netherlands I have the same problem, I can't download the ringtone either.
Have all you fans outside the US tried the toll free number listed in the email?? They might be able to help or at least give you some answers:
"For support or inquiries call 866-853-9793"
yes, i´ve tried it. i´ve phoned to 0018668539793. I haven´t understand it all, because my english isn´t so good. the voice was a recording and it said that i´m phoning from outside the usa and that this number is only for people in usa. I´ve also heard something about login in the web but I haven´t understand that part. in the web abcmobile.playp.biz, I haven´t found anything about namaste ringtone.
I hope the call was free!!
I actually think Abigal got it right when she said The Lamp Post. The Lamp Post in the Chronicles of Narnia stood where the two worlds were joined together, and we already have a tribute to C.S. Lewis with Charlotte's character.
Hmm. The lamp-post also represents, as we learn in The Magician's Nephew, a mistaken discovery of/admission into a world as well. That lamp post was never meant to be there, it was thrown into Narnia in anger and "grew" by the sheer coincidence that it happen to land while Aslan was making the ground fertile.
Incidentally, the one who did the throwing, the empress Jadis, came from a cruel, aggressive empire bent on accumulating power, and she was not SUPPOSED to be in Narnia, but got in accidentally when Digory rang the bell that awakened her, and she got into Narnia through the Wood Between Worlds.
Interesting.
I have a sagem on the Orange network and the ringtone is no go for me here in the UK.
Lighthouse I like: the Colossus held a light in his hand and Ben's library makes me think of Alexandria. We might be looking at Alex's birthday as we're too late I think for the ides of March (if I heard right and they said 3.16) Juliet, Julien, Julius?
maybe something in that yet - but my first thought was: it's a torch: like the one held by the blind Wisdom in her portrait in Heart of Darkness.
More C. S. Lewis possible connections: In Prince Caspian, the children return to a Narnia 1300 years in the future only to find it a mess - the magic is gone (ie, the animals no longer talk, etc). They must work together to reinstate the rightful heir to the throne in order to bring back the magic of Narnia.
In Lost, all of the characters must return to the island where, as Locke (or Jeremy Bentham) said things have apparently gone horribly wrong. What if the magic is gone? What if their job is to return the rightful heir to the "throne" (ie, cabin, Jacob) in order to restore the magic of the island?
I think it is the Port or Portland or a variation of that. Since the looking glass, the pictures didn't match the actual picture, only a meaning. And a sea beacon, lighthose is to show port/land/shore for ships.
@AerynSun:
My fave quote by Lucy from PC:
"Wouldn't it be dreadful if some day in our own world, at home, men started going wild inside, like the animals here, and still looked like men, so that you'd never know which were which?"
Which ARE the good ones, anyway? :D
